Miniatures can cost much more than real furniture. I wrote about the hobby and produced two books on the subject. Shown here on one book cover is a 1 to 1 scale quilt and a suitcase with the name of my stores Mini Mundus -- which meant Small World in Latin (almost) -- should have been a s after mini but I took liberties after two years of Latin! The chair is an antique from the 1920s in a larger scale and is probably worth a lot by now. Interesting that there is such renewed interest in this hobby. Miniature collecting has always popped up in the past when people couldnt afford the real things or the grand houses. My other miniature book, Miniature Needlepoint and Sewing Procects went to 4 book clubs and was a NY Times Notable Craft Book of the year. No one ever suspected that I could barely sew on a button! I look quite industrious cutting wallpaper.
