Minister To The Lord Sep. 19 Newest Posts, Thought for Today 423 comments As they ministered to the Lord, and fasted, the Holy Ghost said, Separate me Barnabas and Saul for the work whereunto I have called them (Acts 13:2) It’s our priestly responsibility as Christians to minister to the Lord, and it’s important in this special month of Fellowship, that you understand how to do it, and the benefits that accrue from it. The first thing to do in ministering to the Lord is to focus your attention on Him in worship. Secondly, learn to speak words of praise to Him from your spirit; words that extol His majesty. Such praise should have content. For example, simply saying, “Lord, I praise you,” isn’t enough. You’ve got to tell Him what you’re praising Him for. Tell Him how wonderful, loving and kind He is; you ought to give substance to your praises of Him this month. So in ministering to the Lord you focus your attention on Him and praise Him from your spirit with words of worship and thanksgiving. The Lord responds to you when you minister to Him like this. When the apostles ministered to Him and fasted as we read in our opening scripture, He responded by giving them direction regarding an important issue. In the same way, God gives you guidance and enlightens your spirit as to what you need do in specific circumstances as you minister to Him. He ministers strength to you and prepares you for the task ahead. Glory to God! Your fellowship with the Holy Spirit becomes effective as you learn to minister to Him from your spirit; He participates in everything you do and dispenses His blessings into your life. You also experience His transportation as He moves you from one level of glory to another. So make it a conscious practice everyday to minister to the Lord; and you’ll experience supernatural protection, impartation and growth as he had declared concerning you this month. Pinterest Thought For Today: Fellowshipping Through Prayer Sep. 16 Newest Posts, Thought for Today 238 comments And he spake a parable unto them to this end, that men ought always to pray, and not to faint (Luke 18:1). There are three levels of fellowship that you must work on in this special month of Fellowship. The first level of fellowship is the fellowship with the Father and the Son through the Holy Spirit and one of the ways that the Holy Spirit accomplishes this in our lives is through prayers. In Luke 18, the Lord Jesus taught on the importance of prayer. Man is a spirit and his needs are essentially spiritual. This is why he always craves for that spiritual contact with God, who is described in Hebrews 12:9 as “the Father of spirits.” What a blessing to know that you can communicate directly with your heavenly Father; that you can have His hundred percent attention through prayer: “For the eyes of the Lord are over the righteous, and his ears are open unto their prayers: but the face of the Lord is against them that do evil” (1 Peter 3:12). This is one reason you ought to always be excited to pray. Some people only pray when they need something. That’s wrong! The time of prayer isn’t just a time to ask God for things; it’s a time to commune or fellowship with Him. That’s the time to hear what He has to say and receive direction for each day’s activities and challenges. The Bible says concerning Jesus that, “…in the morning, rising up a great while before day, he went out, and departed into a solitary place, and there prayed” (Mark 1:35). Jesus took prayer seriously while He was on earth, because He understood the importance of communing with the Father. On another occasion, it was recorded that He prayed all night (Luke 6:12). Though He was (and is) the Son of God, He didn’t take prayer for granted. He understood prayer as an effective way of communing with the Father. The moment you understand and embrace this truth, your life will become richer and you’ll be more productive in all your endeavours. You need that continual fellowship with God to function effectively this month, otherwise, everything you do will be meaningless, and will have no spiritual impact. Do you see why you should take your prayer life more seriously? In this month of Fellowship, learn to rise up early to commune with the Lord, and do this as often as you should. Hallelujah! Sep. 13 Newest Posts, Thought for Today 307 comments All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works (2 Tim. 3:16-17). The first level of fellowship that you must work on this month is, the fellowship with the Father and the Son through the Holy Spirit; and the first way that the Holy Spirit accomplishes this in our lives is through prayers. The second way is through meditation on the Word of God. In this special month of Fellowship, you must take out time to meditate on the Word of God daily. This is because the Holy Spirit helps us fellowship with the Father and the Son through the Word of God. The Father teaches and counsels us through His Word. There are those who say that “experience is the best teacher,” and some others say that “life itself is the best teacher”; both are not true. It may be possible for you to learn a few things from your experiences in life, but the best teacher in life is God’s Word; the instruction manual for living. That’s why the Bible says, “Every Scripture is inspired by God and is useful for teaching” (2 Timothy 3:16-17 WNT). There’s no better way to be a success in life than to follow the Word of God and do what it says. There are folks who only learn through terrible experiences the things they could have learnt if they had only followed the Word of God. Such people experience crises in their business, marriage and other areas of life. But you don’t need to learn that way. You don’t have to lose all your investments to learn how to handle your finances properly. Neither do you need to have experienced a rocky marriage before you learn how to love your spouse. This is why in this month of Fellowship; you must fellowship with the Lord by studying and meditating on His Word. David said, “thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path” (Psalm 119:105). The Message Translation puts it this way: “By your words I can see where I’m going; they throw a beam of light on my dark path.” This means that as you fellowship with the Lord by studying and meditating on His Word, the Word of God illuminates the paths of your life; it gives you direction and the `know-how’ to succeed in life. Through the counsel of the Word you’ll be saved from regrettable experiences. Hallelujah! You don’t have to live by “trial and error”; stick with the Word, and everything about your life will work out beautifully well. Yielding to the Word of God and living by it will make you a wonder to others. They’d begin to ask how come life is so easy for you! The answer is simple: the Word of God has become the pilot of your life. So, fellowship with the Lord by studying and meditating on His Word. Glory to God! Aug. 16 Newest Posts, Thought for Today 273 comments The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all (2 Corinthians 13:14). As Christians, we’re called to fellowship with the Holy Spirit. For some folks, all they know about the Holy Spirit is that He’s the one who makes them speak in other tongues. However, there’s more to the Person and ministry of the Holy Spirit than that. You ought to fellowship with Him everyday; and in this month of August, the Lord wants you to strengthen that fellowship daily. But for this to happen, you need to know exactly what He’s come to do in your life. The Lord Jesus said “But the comforter (counselor, Helper, Intercessor, Advocate, Strengthener, Standby), the Holy Spirit, Whom the father will send in my name [in my place, to represent me, and act on my behalf], He will teach you all things… (John 14:26 AMP). These are the blessings that daily fellowship with the Holy Spirit will bring to your life: He’ll teach you, counsel you, help you, defend you, strengthen you and always be there as your standby when your natural strength fails! The Holy Spirit is not fire, smoke, wind or a dove; He’s a real person. He’s the secret of my life. He talks with me and I talk with Him! He shows me what to do, when to do it and how to do it. I can never be confused about anything because the Holy Spirit guides me. In this special month of Strengthening, you must also strengthen your fellowship with the Holy Spirit every day; learn to listen to what He says to you and yield your spirit, soul and body to Him. Let Him work through you, talk through you and function through you. He wants you to enjoy rich fellowship with Him everyday. Finally, as you recognize Him as your helper, strengthener, standby, counsellor, intercessor, comforter and advocate, you encourage His ministry in your life and strengthen your fellowship with Him. Hallelujah! Remember to share your thoughts and post your comments also. Pinterest Thought For Today: Strengthened With God’s Supernatural Ability Aug. 14 Newest Posts, Thought for Today 231 comments I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me (Philippians 4:13). Christ’ in our opening Scripture doesn’t refer to the Man Jesus; it means “the Anointed One and His anointing.” It refers to the supernatural empowerment Jesus received when the Holy Spirit came upon Him, which made Him the Christ. You received the same Holy Spirit when you were born again. Thus the same anointing that made Jesus the Christ and gave Him the ability to do the impossible is at work in you. The apostle Paul understood this truth, and by the Spirit said, “I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me. Like Paul, you ought to make this your constant confession; the ability of the Spirit has been granted you to achieve supernatural exploits in life. The Bible says, “Not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think any thing as of ourselves; but our sufficiency is of God (2 Corinthians 3:5). The word “sufficiency” in this verse of scripture means “ability.” The Spirit of God is letting you know that you’ve been endued with God’s supernatural ability. Therefore, look beyond what your physical ability can do. Never let your confidence rest in your intellect or in your physical ability because there’s a divine energy available to you. That energy is the power of the Holy Spirit which you must recognize and put to work in your life everyday. With you, nothing is impossible. Cultivate the “I can do mentality” and be possibility-conscious. For example, if you’re a student, never admit that something you’ve read is too difficult for you to understand. Rather, tell yourself, “I have been strengthened with the ability of God in me; I can do all things through Christ which strengthens me. I have the ability to comprehend everything I read and pass my examinations with flying colours.” If a project or an assignment is given to you in your place of work, no matter how difficult it may look, don’t say it can’t be done. Never say something is impossible; remember that you’ve been strengthened with the ability of God in you, therefore you can do all things. In this month of Strengthening, be thankful to God for His power that works in you mightily. Everyday, declare like the Apostle Paul that you can do all things through the anointing that’s at work in you. This way, you’ll build in you the “I can do mentality,” and develop your consciousness of His divine energy that’s at work in you and nothing will ever be impossible for you to accomplish, in Jesus’ Name. Amen. Remember to share your thoughts and post your comments also. Pinterest Thought For Today: How To Strengthen Your Faith Aug. 12 Newest Posts, Thought for Today 102 comments Now the just shall live by faith… (Heb. 10:38) For the child of God, faith is not merely a one-off activity for getting something done; it’s a daily, continuous lifestyle and in this month of Strengthening, this one area the Lord wants you to strengthen as well. There’s really no other way to live as a child of God, but by faith. The Bible says “For we walk by faith, not by sight” (2 Corinthians 5:7). We conduct and regulate our daily affairs in life by functioning by the principle of faith. Thus faith is more than someone saying, “I want to use my faith to get something;” it ought to be a daily lifestyle. The Bible says: “But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him” (Hebrews 11:6). To please God is to live by faith everyday. Throughout this month of August, God expects that your outlook on life should be from the standpoint of faith. There should be a confidence in your spirit when you’re confronted with challenging situations, for you know that your faith will always prevail. It takes faith to be born again; this is what makes faith the way of life of the just. The Bible says we “… look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal” (2 Corinthians 4:18). You must live as a man or woman of faith everyday, by disregarding the earthly, transient, temporal circumstances, and focus on eternal realities. This way, your faith will be continually strengthened and you’ll live a life well pleasing to the Father everyday. Like your heavenly Father, call real the spiritual realities, which you’re yet to see with your optical eyes. This is the lifestyle of the child of God and it is one area that the Lord wants you to strengthen in this glorious month of August. Hallelujah! Finally beloved, you’re a faith-child of a faith-God! Therefore, you ought to live your life from the standpoint of faith everyday. Refuse to depend on the information from your physical senses. See the way God sees; speak the way God speaks; this is how to strengthen your faith and live in dominion over the world and its systems, for your faith is the victory that has overcome the world. Hallelujah. Remember to share your thoughts and post your comments. God bless you! Pinterest Thought For Today: Strengthen The Efficiency of the Spirit in You! Aug. 09 Newest Posts, Thought for Today 189 comments But you shall receive power (ability, efficiency, and might) when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you shall be My witnesses in Jerusalem and all Judea and Samaria and to the ends (the very bounds) of the earth (Acts 1:8 AMP). I want you to notice the word “efficiency” in the scripture above, as one of the synonyms of the Greek word (dunamis) which is translated “power” in English. A lot of Christians know that the Holy Spirit has endued them with power, might and ability but not so many know that He has also brought efficiency into their lives. In this month of August, the Holy Spirit wants you to also strengthen this quality of efficiency in you. “Efficiency” is the skill of being effective without wasting time, expense or unnecessary effort. In other words, an efficient person is productive, with minimum waste or effort. He gets things done in the best way, at the right time. Strengthening the efficiency of the Spirit in you will make you outstanding on your job; it will make you an outstanding student at school. Where others would take days and expend lots of energy to accomplish a task, you would tackle the same assignment and do a better job in a shorter time, with less energy and at a better cost. Promotion will inevitably follow the man or woman who consciously and consistently strengthens this special skill in them! Recognize today that you have the efficiency of the Spirit in you. It’s a wonderful blessing of the Spirit in your life that you must take advantage of and learn to strengthen everyday throughout this month of August. If you’re a student, it’ll make you effective in the way you study and answer questions; you’d always be ahead of your peers. You’ve got to make up your mind this month to strengthen this skill in you by yielding yourself to this ministry of the Spirit; He’s come to fill you with power and ability; He’s also come to make you efficient in what you do. And by yielding yourself to His ministry you strengthen this special blessing of efficiency in you. When you begin to strengthen and take advantage of the efficiency of the Spirit in your life, it will absolutely revolutionize the way you function in life. Time-wasting and unnecessary dissipation of energy and money will be a thing of the past. Then, you will discover that you’re able to do more and achieve more from a position of rest. Finally beloved, you have received the efficiency of the Spirit of God. This blessing makes you effective and productive in everything you do. As you strengthen this quality in you, you’ll get things done the best way, at the right time, with minimum waste or effort. You’ll become a go-getter, and extremely dependable to deliver prompt and excellent services always. Hallelujah! Pinterest Thought For Today: Strengthen Your Resolve To Serve God! Aug. 07 Newest Posts, Thought for Today 252 comments And whosoever will be chief among you, let him be your servant: Even as the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many (Matthew 20:27-28). One of the areas the Spirit of God instructed us to strengthen this month, is our resolve to serve the Lord. In this month of August, you must strengthen your desire and passion for the Lord and His house. The Lord Jesus was the epitome of selfless service. Though He was the Son of God, He humbled himself to man’s level and gave His life as a ransom for the whole world. Now, He says “your attitude must be like my own, for I the messiah did not come to be served but to serve and to give my life as a ransom” (Matthew 20:27-28 TLB). That means we ought to copy the Master’s attitude of being service conscious. This month, we shouldn’t desire for others to serve us, or try to lord over others; rather, we must strengthen our resolve and be ready to serve the Lord with every opportunity that comes our way. As you mature in Christ, the Lord expects you to get rid of the “me-first” attitude. You should come to the place where you take up responsibilities. You shouldn’t be content with merely being a member in a local assembly, having others visit you and check up on your welfare every week. You should desire to grow out of that level and join in helping to follow up and build up new believers. Never be the one to complain when you’re asked to render service in the house of God. Throughout this month of August, you must always be enthusiastic about serving the Lord, and doing things for Him, not necessarily expecting to be praised or applauded by men. Do whatever you do as unto the Lord, for the Bible says “For God is not unjust so that He is unmindful of your labour and of the love which you have manifested towards Himself in having rendered services to His people and in still rendering them” (Hebrews 6:10 WNT). As you strengthen your resolve to serve the Lord by increasing your service to the Him this month, one thing sure, He will bless, promote and exalt you. Glory to God! This month let the consciousness of the responsibility of service in God’s Kingdom dawn on you greatly and be excited at every opportunity to render service in His house, knowing that He is not unmindful to forget your labour of love. Hallelujah! Share your thoughts and post your comments on this platform. Remember also to share all the posts of this month of Strengthening with your friends and loved ones and impact their lives for the Lord. Share with all your contacts, those you do business with, your neighbours and also your colleagues at work. This is because when you strengthen and impact others with the Word, you’re rendering service to God. Hallelujah! Pinterest Thought For Today: August is Your Month of Strengthening! Aug. 05 Newest Posts, Thought for Today 273 comments For this cause I bow my knees unto the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, Of whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named, That he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man (Ephesians 3:14-16). This prayer of the Spirit through the Apostle Paul for the Ephesian church shows us the will of the Father for all of His children. In this special month of Strengthening, He wants us to be strengthened with might in the inner man. “Might” is from the Greek word “dunamis”, the same word translated “power” in Acts 1:8 where the Lord Jesus said to His disciples, “Ye shall receive power after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you.” However, seeing the word “might” and not “power” in the Scripture above, it’s important for us to understand what “might” is and how it functions in us. Firstly, “might” is an overpowering force, which overcomes strength. A metal rod, for example, has strength, though it’s not doing anything. The force with which a strong man bends that metal rod is what is called “might.” In the context of his prayer in the opening Scripture, “might” (dunamis) connotes “miracle- working power.” So Paul’s prayer is that we be invigorated with miracle-working power in our spirits. That miracle-working power functioning in you makes you overcome any adverse situation; it makes everything possible unto you. Hallelujah! This is what God wants working in you this month, and it happens because of the presence of the Holy Spirit. This is why the Scriptures charge us to “…be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might” (Ephesians 6:10). You must become conscious of the presence of the Holy Spirit and allow Him infuse you with miracle-working ability from inside. I encourage you today to pray the prayer in Ephesians 3:16 for yourself everyday, and it wouldn’t be long before you literally feel that miracle-working ability surging through your being strengthening every area of your life! No matter the strength of the opposition that comes against you this month of August, the overpowering force of might working in you will infuse supernatural strength into everything that is connected to you and always put you over. Glory to God! Share this post with your friends and loved ones and also share your thoughts and post your comments on this platform. Have a glorious month of Strengthening!
