Minister Zokwana to deliver a speech on job creation in agriculture in the National Assembly tomorrow Tomorrow, Tuesday, 28 October 2014, the Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, Mr Senzeni Zokwana will deliver a speech during a debate on food production and job creation in the agriculture sector in Parliament. The debate will be held in the Old Assembly at 14:00. Minister Zokwana will speak under the topic: Expanding agricultural production to achieve food security as well as expanding the number of agricultural producers to meet the New Growth Path target of 300 000 new agricultural smallholder producers. An agriculture and fisheries experience will be showcased through a live exhibition at the Old Assembly courtyard from 10:30am until 15:00. Agriculture graduates from Stellenbosch and Paarl will go on a tour of Parliament and also join the Minister for an interactive session afterwards, prior to the Ministers delivery. The department of agriculture, forestry and fisheries has adopted the month of October as Food Security Month. Media are requested to bring proof of identification.
