Minister of Railways , Shri Suresh Prabhu has expressed his appreciation and gratitude to everyone who has given ideas and suggestions regarding the Railway Budget on the Indian Railway website. He fully appreciates the desire of the public to make the railways better in the shortest possible time which is his mission too. However, he feels that any change that the railways need to put in has to be calibrated, properly sequenced and implemented in a systematic manner. There definitely exist constraints of resources which are counterbalanced by the growing aspirations and rising expectations of the people at large. The minister is fully cognizant of this. He therefore wishes to recommit himself to this important nation building task and make the railway rise to meet with the expectations of a large number of people. This is the most urgent item on his agenda and he will spare no effort in putting all the combined might of railways for them to become a veritable engine of growth. For accomplishing this mammoth task , the Minister of Railways counts on the cooperation of all his 13 lakh colleagues of Indian Railways.
