Minor excitement in an otherwise chore-like drive to office, with packed Monday morning traffic and Bangalores legandary horrendously cratered roads: Just outside Adarsh Palm Retreats rear entrance (I think it is the rear entrance, not sure), in the short-cut that connects Sarjapur Road and Outer Ring Road, a school bus coming from the opposite direction slowed down. I was in front of it, in the opposite and noticed a puppy happily playing in front of the school buss wheel oblivious to the danger and with complete lack of any self-preservation. Someone from the school bus got down to shoo it and a passerby tried the same. But, instead of running away, it lingered right in front of the bus and started playing with the two people!! It started lying down as if it wanted to be petted, got up, ran to the other wheel of the bus in the front and was generally in a very merry mood. Thankfully, despite Monday morningness, nobody seemed annoyed with that adorable brown street pup - me, the school bus driver and a few other car drivers on both sides (that I could see). Everyone was amused and actually were enjoying the pups antics. The passerby finally lifted it (it didnt complain!) and dropped it in a sand mound nearby where it started digging the sand and playing... and we all proceeded to continue with our bored existence. Never underestimate the magic of innocence... it seems so pure and uncorrupted! :)
