Minutes of the Meeting held at Ndera on 12th October 2014 The meeting started at around 3:30pm of Kigali time. It was well prepared with students welcoming us and showing us to our seats. The Current Association members who were able to turn up were also present and we were welcomed cheerfully by them. The Headmaster who is Mr. Kalisa Andrew who is also an Association member introduced us to the ceremony and asked the Chairman to pray for the event that would be very interesting as some of us found later yesterday. He then gave the parole to the chairman of the Association Fr. RUGENGAMANZI Jean Baptiste to elaborate more on the day’s agenda. He introduced Mr. Rutayisire John as the treasurer and Mr. Mutabazi Augustin as a current member Fr. RUGENGAMANZI Jean Baptiste then went on to tell us the day’s sole purpose of being invited to the school grounds, which was to integrate former students (who had passed through the school to acquire knowledge) to be part and parcel of the school Association that steers the existence and well being of the school. As he was making this point clear, he gave us a brief history of the school. The school was built in 1986 and had founding members who were local parents that wanted their children to study in the neighborhood since the other schools were in a distance. He went on and narrated to us how the school was reopened by the then Association members that are in a number of ten (10). It reopened on 20th March 1995. Since then it was called Groupe Scolaire APRED Ndera until now. Mr. Kalisa Andrew helped with more explanations and urged us (former students) to join the Association and help develop, upgrade and make APRED Ndera a better school in all possible ways, since the current members were ‘growing old’ and ‘dancing out of tunes’ (kubyina bavamo). Then they gave the audience space to ask questions and give ideas on the day’s main agenda. The ideas and questions were thrown back and forth from the audience (former students) and the available association members gave further explanations to clarify their purpose of convincing us to join the association too. After very good questions, ideas and answers, we decided it was the best option for us (former students) to join the cause of the Association and help develop, upgrade and steer APRED Ndera as part of the Association members group. A fee of 50,000 frw is supposed to be paid every calendar year by every Association member to be considered a Member of the Association. The fee is to be paid through BK account 00046-0651267-13 and bank slips can be brought in. Or paid by hand at the school We agreed to join the Association by paying the fee and we set a date which is 04th January 2015 as the day the NEW Members (who only have paid) will meet again to make further assessments and progression for the association. The turn up was not that big but 63 was a very impressive one and we need to maximize on our numbers. Let us take up this as ours, since we got more than knowledge from this school. Let take up these challenges and strive for excellence for the school and the students that can profit from this. Come all, WE CAN DO IT.
