Miracles do happen! Being an old fashioned guy I rarely put private stuff on Facebook. But I thought I ought to share this. A few of you will know a couple of years back I had throat cancer. Ive been lucky. Things are looking good. My taste which they thought may never return is back and my new lean figure cough... is enabling me to still play 11 a side football with the occasional memorable moment. But I was told that my saliva glands were fried and I would have a dry mouth for the rest of my days. I have to tell you that mine is most definitely returning! I forget my water bottle this morning and just couldnt be bothered to stop for a new one. After 20 minutes driving I realised that I could actually still sing along to my CD. (Avoid obvious joke!) my mouth was moist. And if I really tried, I could make it even wetter. This may seem like nothing, but the reason Im posting this is for everyone fighting or recovering from Cancer or any debilitating condition. Miracles do happen. Trust yourself and the people caring for you. I simply never believe good things cant happen, because experience tells me they do. My eternal thanks once again to the amazing people at Southampton General and doctors an nurses in the community that looked after me and made me feel so special and all my fellow sufferers that were and are still such an inspiration :) xx
