Missing $20bn: We’ll Challenge Any Attempt To Manipulate Probe – Timi Frank ================= A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Comrade Timi Frank, yesterday declared that any attempt by the presidency to manipulate the forensic audit into the alleged missing N20bn will be resisted. Frank, who raised eyebrows over the recruitment of an audit firm, PricewatershouseCoopers, to audit the records over the alleged missing money, added that his lawyers had finalised plans to head to court to compel the president to do the right thing. Following the alarm by suspended Central Bank governor, Sanusi Lamido Sanusi, over unremitted S20bn by the NNPC, which fuelled allegations of the money missing, President Goodluck Jonathan in his latest media chat expressed doubt that the unremitted money was missing. He said that a committee had been setup to carry out a forensic audit, with another probe ongoing by the National Assembly on the matter. But Frank, at a press conference yesterday in Abuja, said he disagreed with Jonathan for expressing doubt over the missing money and faulted what he described as an attempt by the president to protect the minister of petroleum, Diezani Allison-Madueke from accounting for the huge sum. The former national youth leader of the defunct new PDP urged the National Assembly not to take a back seat in the probe, even as he called for the suspension of the minister and the group managing director of Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), Mr. Andrew Yakubu to ensure that they do not interfere with the probe. He further claimed that six panel reports had so far indicted the NNPC and the minister but “as we speak, none of them (reports) has been implemented.” Responding to a court injunction to stop the investigation on the issue, Frank said “she has a right to go to court. If somebody is going to court to stop this issue, it means something is fishy.” Via:-MR INTEGRITY
