Missing 72-Year-Old Soka Kidnap Victim Found At Last THE 72-year-old Cecelia Obaikhena, who was allegedly kidnapped in Edo State and kept at the kidnappers’ den in Soka, Ibadan and was reported lost immediately after the discovery of the den, has been found. She was found wandering around the Ibadan Toll Gate area, where some mechanics in the area who had read about her story, found her. On sighting her, they informed a popular radio station in the city and also the police, who went to the scene and took her away to the Police Headquarters in Eleyele. Nigerian Tribune had tried getting information as to how she vanished from the scene on the day they were rescued, but Cecelia’s response was somewhat gibberish, as she spoke a strange language. The only proof that she was the missing kidnapped victim was the picture published in the Tribune newspaper, which fitted her exact person. Various people then took turns to speak in different languages to her in order to first of all, determine her native land and also her sanity. However, all efforts to communicate with her proved abortive, as no one at the scene understood her language. In order to further calm her down, she was given food and drinks, which she ate heartily. From her actions, it showed that she was sane, but had been affected by the long years of trauma. She did not drink from the bottle of water she was given, but poured same into a bowl and drank from it. This drew cheers from the gathered spectators, as it showed some form of coordination on her part, thus resting the notion that she was insane. A call was put through to the relatives of Cecelia, who had surfaced last week, with claims that the rescued woman was their long lost mother and grandmother. However, from the gathered responses, it was quite unclear whether they could ascertain on phone if the woman they heard was their lost relative. They promised to show up as soon as possible. As at the time of fiing this report, she was being considered to be transferred to the state hospital at Yemetu, where other kidnapped victims were being rehabilitated.—SSG News.
