Update on EU VAT stuff from Patreon: My email: Hi, has there been any update regarding the EU VAT regulation changes and how they will affect Patreon creators? The new regulations have been in effect for almost a fortnight now and unless Patreon is handling VAT on our behalf as a 3rd party marketplace OR you can advise on how best to tailor/process our Patreon campaigns to avoid them falling under these new regulations, then any of your creators who have Patrons within the EU are currently falling foul of these new regulations and could be subject to an unlimited fine. Which as you can imagine is rather concerning. I realise that Patreon was as caught off guard by these changes as the rest of us but we do need some form of announcement or guidance on this matter ASAP for the reason above. Their response: We should have an answer for you this week! SO sorry for the delay here. We were caught off guard but working as quickly as possible! So... at least were close to getting an answer about whether weve been breaking the law for the last fortnight or not...
