Missing The Applegate Zoo | Animal Story Poem Some people are not like you, All I know is how bad I miss the zoo. Been lost since few days, Got caught in a cage. Missed the family for a while, Till got into a zoo that was a little less wild. There they trained me to moo, Taught me to roll a ball made of wool. All the roars subdued, Gave me sweaters and a roof. Then a plan that went into my ears, Proposed by the neighbouring Tasmanian bears. They made a plan for all the inmates, About how to get clean out of the cage. The red one had learnt how to break the locks, The only threat was the security dog barks. For 70 species the rabbits agreed to sacrifice, As the bait, they were first made to escape from behind. They lured the dogs and guided to the deep dens, Then tigers and the wolves were then released, Later we heard the last few quacks of the doglike hens. The bears then took all the gates down, Waking up my personal trainer with the odd sounds. I lost the trainer, but they asked me to be happy as now I was free, All went to the jungle, after a long time I got reunited with the trees. But now I hunt my food and feel a bit down, Remembering the lights, and cushioned grounds. A few more steps I heard some roars, It was the same family I lost, years ago, Among them there were some friends who were now foes, They greeted and accepted me, and asked about the shows. I narrate the shows every now and then, Less people now get amused rejecting my life in the cell. But the zoo is still fresh in my mind, making me wait for the masters bell, I might never get the food served hot again, might never get back that life spent in the shell. +Nipunda
