Miz Clementine (1951-1962) Born in 1951 at Calumet Farm, Miz Clementine was by leading sire Bull Lea and out Two Bob, who was one of Calumets foundation mares. Miz Clementine was trained throughout her career by Jimmy Jones and raced mainly in California. During her career Miz Clementine won 16 of 36 starts including wins in the Pollyanna S., California Derby, Hollywood Oaks, Cinema H., Sea Breeze S., California Oaks, Goose Girl S., Yerba Buena H., Las Flores H., New Castle S., and Vagrancy H.. As a broodmare, Miz Clementine only produced two foals, a Swaps filly named Sweet Clementine and a Royal Charger colt named Rare Royal. Rare Royal raced 150 times in his career and won 23 times. Royal Charger was gelded late in his racing career but Miz Clementine lives on through Sweet Clementine. Although she won once in her six race career, Sweet Clementine is the dam of stakes winner and leading sire Best Turn. Miz Clementine died at Calumet Farm in 1962 at the age of 11.
