Mmmmm.... Have been weighing bonnets and calculating and comparing gas rams to get lift correct. After several rams tested now found a pair which will be good for all bonnets (Td5 is much lighter than v8 200 300 bonnets). This way all kits using same 2x rams.. Some were too far far too stong meaning bonnet near jumped off its hinges !... Some just about ok on td5 ..but not strong enough for earlier heavier bonnets Brackets designed. and proto bits all CNC cut. fitting wise started on tube wing kit (ie kits for challenge winged 90s 110s etc) as i could use mine. Could also mimick td5 bonnet weight as strengthen beams sre currently removed...but added back ti check ram calcs....and spot on !..lift is stong but not too strong, and easy to reclose bonnet Kits will be twin ram...1x ram twists bonnet....hence twin more stabe and these Rams are also easy quick release types so can be disconnected in seconds ...literally..to then be able to remove bonnet. Cheaper rams have nasty retaining clips which are not designed to really be removed and break, these babies are perfick :D Prototypes hereare bare metal finished products will be passivate finished and countersunk + stainless fixing vs prototypey pop rivetts lol !!! Close enough now to be able to firm up pricing on kits... Tube kits Top Mountings x2 ...stainless fittings ...2x ram... 2x tube weld on mountings for wings.. and 4x ram stud ball ends.... everything needed £36.95 no vat Standard Kit Will fit 2.5 petrol 200 300 tdis TD5s and V8s with all of the above but bolt on passivated bottom mounts.... again with stainless fixings and passivated mounts £39.95 no vat Today have a 300 tdi landing at the inventing shed for standard kit prototype fitting of base mounts... In the interim as i have been asked how project / is project coming along heres vid of challenge wing prototype kit... Love this on mine !!!!! so so easy !! Hate bonnet props and those scissor ones....Yeeeeouch ! So many times lol..... More soon when Standard Kits sorted .......
