Modern feminists will often cry, NAFALT!, but can we really ignore - TopicsExpress

Modern feminists will often cry, NAFALT!, but can we really ignore all of the radicals within feminism? In just the previous wave of feminism (the second wave), we see an explosion of violently misandrist hypocrisy that was peddled as feminism at the time. I often wonder why the minority of feminists at the time who werent radical didnt ever decide to ditch the word and movement of feminism in order to separate themselves from the radical majority. Instead, its almost as if were supposed to act like radical feminists are just no-names in their parents basements who like to play keyboard warrior on the weekends. But theyre not. These radical feminists quoted here had power and influence in their movement, in academia, and in society. They were authors, editors, journalists, and educators. In their prime, they tainted the society-wide debate on gender issues and hurt a lot of people (just look at the first one of the pink list, Valerie Solanas, who founded a society devoted to violence specifically against men, and who attempted to murder Andy Warhol). If modern feminists really cared about separating themselves from the radicals, then instead of just crying, NAFALT!, they would stand with us, acknowledging and owning the damage their movement did in the second wave, and openly and actively opposing the bad feminists of the modern third wave. Itd be helpful to all of us to have that common ground. Sometimes, it seems as if the only time modern feminists ever acknowledge the bad feminists is when an anti-feminist brings them up, and even then they only acknowledge them to say that they supposedly have no force in the real world and NAFALT. I apologize for how small the words are on these, especially the blue one. If you go to the source pages Im linking below, you should be able to zoom in, and itll be clearer. The source pages also have a list of citations to prove each quotes credibility. franklyno.tumblr/post/61911332445/part-1-o-part-2-o-part-3-transcript-sources franklyno.tumblr/post/62192542728/part-1-o-part-2-o-part-3-transcript-sources franklyno.tumblr/post/62748733417/part-1-o-part-2-o-part-3-transcript-sources The blue one is a bit different from the other two, in that it isnt quotes from radical feminists--it lists accounts from both feminists and anti-feminists who have had very negative experiences with feminists, including modern feminists. Again, these werent average people who had a run-in with a trollish, no-name radical online. These are authors and professors active in society who had a run-in with the censorious, militant nature of feminism. --Jonathan
