Mom Post: Could you post? Ill start with a little background info. I am a stepmom to a 6 yr old little girl and a 4 year old little boy and a bm to a 20 mo old little boy. I have been in their lives since the youngest was 4 mo old and have done anything and everything I can for them (I bring them to school, dr appts, after school activities etc) I am getting married to their daddy this October ever since I started planning the wedding Ive always had my step kids involved in every aspect and both are absolutely thrilled. My step daughter is the flower girl and both boys are ring bearers anyway their mom and I get along amazingly and the three of us co parent well; not perfect but pretty good lol. Today, I picked my stepdaughter up from school and she starts telling me about a new friend she made and that she told her new friend all about the wedding and how she cant wait for her mom and dad to get married. This took me by surprise because she only refers to me as her stepmommy or by my first name which does not bother me one bit. So I asked her why she called me her mom to her friend and she replies because I dont like to say step mom. I like to say mom so I told her she doesnt have to refer to me as mom and that she shouldnt be embarrassed of having a step mom if she is and she says Im not embarrassed I just dont like saying step mom. No one needs to know my business so I said ok and left it at that. But now Im sitting here wondering what her feelings really are. Is she embarrassed? Is it just absolutely nothing at all and Im just being sensitive? Lol does anyone have any input on this at all? Thank you RP ~MommaBear~ Please No Bashing
