Moment of Truth Nigerian Christians and Politics I have heard it - TopicsExpress

Moment of Truth Nigerian Christians and Politics I have heard it umpteen times in Nigeria that Christians should not participate in Politics. Another slogan is that Politics is a dirty game; a Christian must not touch it. The irony is that this has regurgitated through generations. How can a lie or misconception, to be modest, survive along generations and yet the people does not detect? Let me pointedly say that if you yet hold and believe such lies, then deliverance is necessary. It is either you misunderstand your Pastors or do not understand what they are saying completely or you are being deceived. I don’t believe any Pastor can genuinely tell his congregation that Politics is a sin, dirty game and not for Christians. If so, you need to quickly carry your bags and run away from that Church because somebody is deceiving somebody somewhere. Let me point out that it is only in Nigeria that we hear this; except you are telling me that Nigeria is the only Christian Country in the globe. But it is known to the whole world as well that Nigeria ranks among the last within the Christian nations but ranks the first among the religious nations. Get it right; Nigeria is the FIRST among religious countries but one of the LAST among the Christian Countries. The Scripture says my people perish for lacking of Wisdom. It also says if anyone seeks wisdom, he should ask. It further says the fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom and that to get wisdom, we must get understanding. From creation our LORD GOD ALMIGHTY intended that His children would rule Hs creations and govern the world through divine revelations and instructions from Him. That’s why He made the spiritual leaders/prophets to rule the people. Some of them included the patriarchs Adam, Moses, Joshua, Eli, Samuel etc. Even when the people asked for an earthly king to His reluctance, He appointed Saul and poured His spirit on the young man that he prophesied among the prophets. This was to show that Saul was to rule with the spirit of God. Let’s come to recent. In Nigeria, there are so many Pastors and the foremost objective of every one of them is to garner many people as congregations. The objective may be to spread the gospel or for other reasons. But the truth of the matter is every one of them wants to CONTROL their people; gaskiya mona. In doing so there are many ways to adopt, ranging from the type of services, the gifts they profess to possess to instilling fear. One potent means of control is by preventing exposure. Politics is a tool of exposure and so it is better to give the dog a bad name. The consequence is that if Christians who are supposed to be ‘good’ people run away and do not participate; then the bad/dirty people will take it up and what does it become? A dirty/bad game; because somebody must definitely rule a nation. If bad people rule, how can they rule well, the ruling must be evil too. Looking at this vicious circle, then who is at fault? Is it the Christian who shies away or the bad people? In fact the Nigerian Christians have cause to be thankful to the Nigerian politicians. The Nigerian Christian should keep quiet and not complain. They should not expect to reap where they do not sow; that is stealing. The Christians are actually disobeying God and neglecting the work that God gave them. Do you know that all we need is for all the Nigerian Christians to go into politics and play it with the fear of God for Nigeria to experience paradise on earth? If we are all there, the bad people will disappear; there will be no political assassinations and thuggery. But if we sit on our bums running away from death, the devil will continue to laugh. You know death is an agent of the devil and a coward dies many times before his death. By running under one pretext or the other, the Nigerian Christian has shown himself to be a coward and has no business complaining about bad roads or lack of power. You don’t expect bad rulers to construct good roads. Finally I am sure Nigerian Pastors don’t tell their congregations not to do politics; because they are involved themselves. The current president of CAN Pastor Ayo Oritsejafor hobnobs with GEJ his recently recognised fellow South-south man. GEJ was personally present when the Pastor was receiving and commissioning his private jet the other time. You must know that the president did not go there empty-handed. The fact is that CAN have never been political under any leadership than the current President Ayo Oritsejafor. So also you should know that Late Musa Yar’ Adua and GEJ kneeling down before Pastor Adeboye was a sign of approval and message to his congregation and going to TB Joshua were not with mere handshakes. If you believe they appeared before the prophets with nothing, then you can believe anything. The frequent prayer visits of Pastor Oyedepo and others to Aso Rock were not like that of Prophet Samuel to king Saul. If all these are not politics then what are they? They are politics personified to the core, point blank. Those leaders are politicians per se if you don’t know. So any Pastor that preaches you must not engage in politics because it’s dirty is being economical with the truth and it is all about controlling your mind set. Change your attitude, let’s all go into politics en masse and chase the bad guys away. Once we are many and ubiquitous, they will bow and run. Do God’s work and don’t be deceived. Study the Scriptures and see the truth. The era of using the Pastor’s mouth as safe keeping of our meats must be over. Make God happy; Nigeria can still be great if God’s children are in power under God’s control and not Pastor’s control. Look friends and families, my God shall supply all your need this week in Christ Jesus. Be blessed.
