Mommie and Joshuas kangaroo care time. Love this little boy so much! He is up to 13 milliliters at each 3 hour feeding an tolerating the 2 milliliter daily increase really great. He gained an ounce since yesterday. Thats a lot for him lol. They increased his caffeine just to help him remember to breath. They are adding a little vitimans to his breast milk just so he will have few extra calories in which hopefully will help him gain weight a tad faster. They are discussing taking him off the C-Pap and putting him back on the bubble later this afternoon or tomorrow. C-Pap was helping give him extra breath which they started after him having several sleep apnea spells, however now, he is tolerating better an HATES the C-Pap, fights them each time its placed back over his lil nose lol. Plus he throws a little temper tantrum as well. :) The bubble is only little things that go barely in his nose an it doesnt seem to frustrate him nowhere near as much as CPap. Plus with the bubble he is completely breathing on his own its just air (not oxygen) that just helps him when the breathing just gets a little hard for him and he needs a lil break. But other than his small set back with his breathing spells he is doing great! All X rays have came back clear an normal as well as his ultrasounds on his bladder, kidneys an head. His hemoglobin is good along with his other blood work. Labs have been so good his doctor has decided to do every 2 days instead of daily. He has gotten a little diaper rash but they say its just from humidity of the incubator that caused it an some nystatin should have that cleared up in few days. But at moment they are just saying he needs to grow and put on weight..just meet all his milestones. An even though its only been 9 days hes done accomplished an surpassed several of them!! Just something as simple as tolerating a feed increase that day is a huge accomplishment for him. And thanks to God that all his test, xrays, ultrasounds, lab work, blood test have came back all great! All another huge accomplishment! Looking forward to Wednesday, well everyday, as for I get to hold my baby boy as long as I want during his kangaroo care!
