Monday, Aug 5- "The maturity-process of the Holy Spirit"- part 10 2Cor 6:11-13 “11 O Corinthians! We have spoken openly to you, our heart is wide open. 12 You are not restricted by us, but you are restricted by your own affections. 13 Now in return for the same (I speak as to children), you also be open” Let’s look at next character contrast of children and sons from 2Cor 6: Children have closed hearts to the word because of soul-control, but sons have open hearts to the word because of Love-control. Notice in v.13 that Paul had to talk and relate to these believers as immature “children”, because they were not able to receive the word of Truth because of a closed heart. A closed heart is a restricted heart and a heart becomes restricted by one’s feelings of affection. One’s feelings comes from his soul. When I talk about the soul, I am specifically zeroing in on 4 areas of our lives: our mind, which is our thinking and reason about things; our will, which is our decisions concerning those thoughts; our emotions, which is our feelings about those those thoughts; our desires, which is our determination to get those thoughts accomplished. This, in a “nutshell”, is the fulfillment of what we read in Proverbs, “As a man thinks in his heart, so is he”, or “so will he become”. So the information that we allow to remain and go on in our heads is what will find its way into our hearts and if the information is based from outward FEAR and selfishness, then it will close one’s heart to be able to receive the word of Truth. When this is the case, then one’s soul will take control. An opened heart is what the Lord calls “new wineskins”. Look at what He said, “Nor do they put new wine into old wineskins, or else the wineskins break, the wine is spilled, and the wineskins are ruined. But they put new wine into new wineskins, and both are preserved” (Matt 9:17). Only the new wine of Love can create the new wineskins of an open heart and this describes the maturation process of the Holy Spirit. Look at this amazing Scripture in confirming this, “18 For I am full of words; The spirit within me compels me. 19 Indeed my belly (spirit) is like wine that has no vent; It is ready to burst like new wineskins. 20 I will speak, that I may find relief; I must open my lips and answer" (Job 32:18-20). Allow the new wine of the Love of God to be poured out into your heart and control it and as a mature son, you will walk in a continual flow of Revelation knowledge. powerinthebloodministries
