Rhodes Confession 6649 My friends new boyfriend is really stingy. Like, Ebenezer Scrooge-stingy. It makes me so sad for her. I always noticed he wasnt about that sharing life, but we went to a braai recently and thats when I developed a new appreciation of this guys stinge. She took a chip from his plate and bit it, and he literally made her take it out of her mouth and give it back to him. I laughed because I thought he was joking, but my heart broke when I realized he was dead serious. During the people, even. She tells me that when they go for drinks, this guy goes to the bar and comes back with just one drink, for himself, sits down next to her and sips causally. If she asks for a sip of his drink, he flat out says no and points her to the bar. And its not just food hes tight-fisted about, its just about everything. If were out and it gets cold and she didnt bring a jacket, all she gets from him is a shame while he zips up the jacket he has on over his hoodie. Id never dream of asking him for anything, so it doesnt affect me personally, but it kinda spoils my mood a little when I see him behave like that. Im personally such a giving person; it actually brings me joy to share with people I care about, even the little I have, so stingy and ungenerous people seem like savage creatures to me. It makes me dislike him so much, but my friend loves him so I guess I have to deal. I just hope she never has to be stranded on an island or floating on a door with him after their ship sinks, because itll be so late for her.
