Monday, August 4, 2014 “…brings forth out of his treasure things both old and new” –Matthew 12:35 Good Morning Heavenly Father, Family & Friends!! (*) Yesterday’s Discovered Treasure for Today: “Grow in grace (undeserved favor, spiritual strength) and recognition and knowledge and understanding of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ (the Messiah)” . . . “Guard and keep yourselves in the love of God; expect and patiently wait for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ (the Messiah)—[which will bring you] unto life eternal” (II Peter 3:18; Jude 21 Amplified Bible). (*) Today’s Application: Ever wonder why such a loving God would leave a person in an undesirable relationship or place, especially when it is one of us? What would be His purpose as it seems He cares little about the discomfort, disloyalty or even the derogatory remarks said about Him by the one causing all the trouble? To start with, a discovery is in order that finds us not only embracing Christ as a Savior but He becomes a Personal Instructor in life as well. As we allow Him in such a manner, the Scripture says we learn and grow in God’s wisdom. A spiritually mature person is always found increasing his knowledge of God and seeking to make good use of that which he has learned. Proverbs 1:5 makes this known to us: “The wise also will hear and increase in learning, and the person of understanding will acquire skill and attain to sound counsel [so that he may be able to steer his course rightly]” (Amplified Bible). Here is a list of twelve Scriptural pearls of reason why God will leave us in trying and challenging situations: (1) God leaves us there for a season as an opportunity for Him to manifest His keeping power in a hostile world (Hebrews 13:5); (2) To demonstrate the sufficiency of His grace supporting us in our weaknesses (II Corinthians 12:9); (3) To maintain a witness for Christ in a sinful world which lays in the hands of Satan, the prince of the power of the air (Ephesians 2:2); (4) To show His faithfulness in supplying all our needs (Philippians 4:19); (5) To display His manifold wisdom (Romans11:33); (6) To act as a preserving salt in a decaying moral culture, becoming a purifying and restraining agent of influence for others to benefit by (Matthew 5:13-16); (7) To make evident the reality of our faith as we trust Him through times of trial and tribulation (Acts 20:21); (8) To give us an occasion to glorify Him in the place where He is being dishonored (Acts 4:21); (9) To share the Good News of Christ to those yet in unbelief (II Timothy 4:2); (10) To show proof that we can serve Him amid the most disadvantaged circumstances (I Thessalonians 3:5); (11) To deepen our appreciation of what God has prepared for us (Romans 8:38-39); and, (12) So we might have fellowship with Christ (Romans 8:17). Remember, it was Christ who endured the cross before He was crowned with glory and honor, and at times we too have to endure a cross or two in following Him before we behold His glory in our lives as well. As hard as it may seem at first, we are to rejoice in the fact that God has us in this temporary place for a purpose. Therefore, we are to walk worthy as Christ-followers, never to be left alone, never to be forsaken and always having God’s best interest in us. “For we are God’s [own] handiwork (His workmanship), recreated in Christ Jesus, [born anew] that we may do those good works which God predestined (planned beforehand) for us [taking paths which He prepared ahead of time], that we should walk in them [living the good life which He prearranged and made ready for us to live]” (Ephesians 2:10 Amplified Bible). 0:-)
