Monday Leadership Class Pearls: “Become That Scholar” September 22, 2014 Becoming that scholar: 1. It is your responsibility to become a scholar. It is not man’s job to motivate you to study the word. 2. Love the word enough to learn biblical Hebrew and biblical Greek. 3. Ministry is not something you belong in unless you love it. Otherwise, it’s not for you. True love brings sacrifice. You only lay down your life for someone who has a life of equal value. Christ didn’t sacrifice his life for those he viewed as less than himself. He sacrificed himself for mankind who become joint heirs in an eternal kingdom. The names Jesus and Jehovah were handed down to the masses by informed and educated persons who chose to disregard truth. Likewise, this practice was utilized in slavery. Throughout history, slaves and various underclasses were not allowed to read and write and consequently they relied on pastors (or learnt ones) to teach and expound upon Scripture. Matthew 25:1 (Parable of the 10 virgins and lamps) Foolish people who fail to prepare always look for others to share resources or help them out of their situation. They often view wise people who do not meet their expectations as unloving. Question: Does Ephesians 6:12 refer to physical warfare? How does King David’s war apply to Ephesians 6:12? How does this relate to the Dome of the Rock? Ephesians 6:12 “For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.” Every war starts in the spirit. When it says, “We wrestle not against flesh and blood…” it speaks of how Christians possess the greatest power in the spirit. If a disagreement spills over from the spirit into the natural, a natural war may ensue. When we look at the children of Yisrael, before anything happened to them in the natural, it first occurred in the spirit. When you cut off something spiritually, it doesn’t have access to you physically. The Books of 1st and 2nd Shemuel were written from man’s perspective while 1st and 2nd Chronicles were written from a spiritual perspective. When you read some of the passages from the Old Testament, YHWH is blamed for things he didn’t do because man views YHWH as one who oversees all. 2 Shemuel 24:1 “And again the anger of YHWH was kindled against Yisrael, and he moved David against them to say, Go, number Yisrael and Yahudah.” V13 “So Gad came to David, and told him, and said unto him, ‘Shall seven years of famine come unto thee in thy land? or wilt thou flee three months before thine enemies, while they pursue thee? or that there be three days pestilence in thy land? Now advise, and see what answer I shall return to him that sent me. There were repercussions in the natural for David’s sin of numbering Yisrael. Proposed judgment as a result of David’s sin: 1. Seven years of famine 2. Flee 3 months before your enemy 3. Three days of pestilence in the land YHWH allowed David to choose his consequence. According to scripture, David chose the following: 14 And David said unto Gad, I am in a great strait: let us fall now into the hand of YHWH; for his mercies are great: and let me not fall into the hand of man. (2 Shemuel 24:14) As a result of Davids choice, scriptures reads: 15 So YHWH sent a pestilence upon Israel from the morning even to the time appointed: and there died of the people from Dan even to Beersheba seventy thousand men. (2 Shemuel 24:15) Behind every decision, there is a warfare and cost applied. 1 Chronicles 21:1 “And Satan stood up against Yisrael, and provoked David to number Yisrael.” This verse reveals that David disobeying YHWH in numbering Yisrael was a result of a spiritual attack from Satan. Behind every doctrine of lies, there is a devil. You can’t serve two masters; you can’t say you serve YHWH and walk after a demonic spirit. The dome of the Rock will be the site of a spiritual war. It currently sits on Solomon’s temple and holds great significance in Islam. However, it must be removed before Christ returns. Yahshua cannot return until Solomon’s temple is restored and the 7 year tribulation occurs. (Reference Book of Daniel, 70 weeks; Romans 11) People experience struggle going from the knowledge of Jesus to the knowledge of Yahshua. Yet those who never had relationship with Jesus don’t struggle when they encounter the truth of Yahshua. By introducing the name of Jesus, Western civilization has sought to redefine the identity of Christ and strip him of his Jewishness. #Bishop — with Bishop Pernell.
