Monday Mystery: Born and raised in Albany,TX, I graduated from Texas A&M University and was commissioned into the US Army Air Service. In addition to flight school, I received photography training. My service assignments included NY, CA and the Panama Canal Zone. I was the operations officer of the 2nd Bomb Group that was the first unit to receive the first group of B-17 Flying Fortresses. I participated in a goodwill tour from Langley Field to Buenos Aires, Argentina. At the time, this was the longest distance performance of its kind and my unit earned the MacKay Trophy.
