Monday Nov. 18th 2013 PISS 1 - 4 Old Frees Association (OFA) Venue: Penang Sports Club. A very open game and an evenly matched first half with many half chances on both sides. Honours shared at 1-1 going in to the break thanks a defence splitting pass from Mitja and a good finish from Dar. We also had the better close range chances but could not finish, and we kept them to long range shots. Second half the younger OFA came out fast with a few fresh players and put us on the defensive, we held on at the back and still were able to cause some trouble in attack, but it was more time spent spoiling than creating. In the end we were punished for a few minor mistakes and the referee might have missed an offside goal as night set in in the tropics. Still perhaps we should have set up to take the draw. A few key players missing - Matt Le Boeuf, Rolandho, Sunhj Ribery, Rasmus Tacklehardesen and Clive Allen-Smith who would have made all the difference... still that is mid-week matches. Nick McGuinness-Ridley played a good full game at 73 years old! Khoo was kept busy, with some good shot stopping and collecting many long range misses going far behind the goal. Jason was awesome with the goal kicks and defensive clearances with head heel or toe, a bit Clive-esque with the slide tackles. Overall a satisfying game, we worked hard and tried to do the right things. Hip-Ray for OFA followed by pitch side beer was a wonderful end to a Monday. Some of the weary legs were due to a PISS hike for 8 hours from Botanical Gardens to Batu Feringghi on Saturday (led by Nick), followed by Sundays regular game then this Cup game on Monday!
