Monday, October 20, 2014 Scripture lesson for today: Hebrews 11: 1-6 By faith Enoch was taken from this life, so that he did not experience death: He could not be found, because God had taken him away. For before he was taken, he was commended as one who pleased God. And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to Him must believe that He exists and that He rewards those who earnestly seek Him. Hebrews 11: 5-6 NIV Hebrews chapter 11 is considered the faith chapter of the Bible and it lists the faith of many of the saints included in Gods Word. But more importantly than whom the saints were and what their faith was (all being believers of our Great God and Father) is that this chapter also tells of the great rewards these saints received for truly seeking out the Lord. Each saints faith, which pleased God, ended with a reward given by God. Have you considered your faith and its implications; does it please God? Is it a faith worthy of a reward; not that we are to have faith in order to seek a reward, but what truly will your faith result in? This is a question that we probably seldom think of, but it is a question that we should look into. Does our faith please God and to what extent will it be acknowledged; will it result in answered prayer or are there other means by which God will answer? Prayer: Great and Gracious Father, what do you have planned for us, we ask; and your Word answers, more than you could ever expect. We thank you and praise you for being who you are and doing all that you do. Amen.
