Monday U-MIT Minute Today’s tip: The functionality of Coban I have displayed a list of medical supplies that can be made available in the new U-MIT D.R.O.P P.A.K (med bag). I have been getting some questions regarding the functionality of some of the supplies, and several of you have asked what Coban is. Coban is a self-adherent wrap. Have you ever had blood taken for labs or have donated blood recently? Band-Aids or gauze and med tape are not used that often any more. The medical professionals use gauze and Coban to wrap it up. The pictures below are great examples of what it looks like and how it is applied. All you have to do is wrap it around something once or twice and make sure that about 2 to 3 inches of material is left over to press against the Coban already applied. The good thing about Coban is that it does not leave a sticky residue and can simply be cut off with trauma shears or something similar. You do have to be careful though. Just like any other binding material, there is a potential to cut off circulation. If you have any other question or concerns regarding this or any other type of material please feel free to PM at any time. I hope to have pricing for the med bags really soon.
