Monday has come around once again, and this means that so should you. Come join us this evening for a beer. Stillwater Classique 6. USA 4.5% ABV 33cl “Post-Modern Beer” made as an homage to American beers before corporate brewers turned us into insipid lager drinkers. Low ABV, dry finish, corn-y and quaffable, with the perfect balance of hops. Very well done. Slaapmutske Organic Tripel 7.5 Belgium 8% ABV 25cl Anyone who has enjoyed the aroma of pale malted barley being ground for mashing will love this beer. Pure in flavor and bone dry, this Tripel has crisp, herbaceous and bitter flavors on a firm, medium bodied frame. Mikkeller Spontanpeach 8.5 Denmark 7.7% ABV 6oz As the name suggests, this is a wild fermented beer (read: sour and funkified) aged with fresh peaches. Don’t look for much of the peach flavor though. Instead, there is that bright and tart firmness of stone-fruit skin. Delicious. LoverBeer Madamin 10. Italy 6.2%ABV 6oz "Madamin" is a Piemontese word meaning "young lady". Sour, amber ale fermented and maturated only in oak vats. Tart, balanced with just a touch of texturizing tannins. One of our favorite sours by far. Evil Twin Lil’ B Imperial Stout 6.5 USA 11.5%ABV 6oz A cool breeze off a volcano. Coffee aroma gives way to a chocolatey palate with just enough fruity softness. This is a stout that instead of knocking you over will pick you up, brush you off and set you on your feet. Prairie Artisan ‘Merica 6. USA 7.5% ABV 25cl We do not doubt the complexity one gains from using multiple grains and numerous hop varieties. However, here we have a single grain (Pilsner malt) and a single hop (Nelson Sauvin) really delivering. Oh, the magic of yeast! Evil Twin Nomader Wit 7. USA 5% ABV 33cl It has become a trend recently (or stylistic innovation, if you prefer) to ferment a Witbier with 100% brettanomyces; this particular brew illuminates why. Soft malt and honey notes are coupled with a musty sharpness. Delicious. Mikkeller 20 IPA 7.5 Denmark 6.7% ABV 25cl Simultaneously generous and restrained in its hop profile, this beer was inspired by the US micro-brewing community. We wouldn’t call it a “bright” IPA, but a cresting wave of juiciness carries the malt to a harmonious finish. De La Senne Zinnebir 8.5 Belgium 6% ABV 33cl Another perfect offering from De La Senne. Creamy blonde with musk, mint and marmalade hop tones and a spicy finish. The medium body, firm texture, and persistent bitterness make it hard to resist a second glass.
