Monday morning Thoughts: I find it interesting that the popular consensus now is to state that all black successful persons are devil worshipers, especially those in the music industry. This apparently can be traced back to a few youtube videos that goes into detail on the apparent use of devil worshiping signs that these artist uses in their music and music videos. What is even more interesting is that ALL these supposed symbols are from ancient African. Most are Egyptian but many are taken from all over Africa. So basically if you are black and you are successful and you dear to mention anything of your ancient past then that equates to you being a devil worshiper. Not to mention, these people who make these assertion never study the culture that these symbols come out of or how they were used inside of the culture. If they do study it, they study it from a religious disposition, therefore making anything that does not oozes of European centric religious nature automatically flagged as being of the devil. This is not to say that there are not crazy behaviors taking place in the music industry, but there are crazy behaviors taking place in all industry. These businesses run on the mindset of the bottom line. If it makes money and it sells then they will produce it. Again this is not giving them a pass or excusing bad behavior. But if we spend all our time focus on non-issues then we never get around to focusing on real issues. And I think we all know that has black and brown folks we are amazing and wonderful and so many ways, but we also have a lot of issues we need to work out.
