Monday the 27th October - Race Results! In a word.... EPIC!... Of the 96 riders that arrived to race this Monday just gone, there isnt one that went home feeling fresh!! The wind made racing a day for the hardened rider, with a few suprises across the grades! A Grade The race started at a good tempo with small groups trying to getaway. On the fourth lap, after many surges, the group finally splintered into two groups and the main group stayed away. On the last lap Shaun McManus sneaked away from the bunch and rode solo to the finish, leaving the bunch to fight for the scraps. 1st - Shaun McManus 2nd - Luis Trueba 3rd - Eddie Salas 4th - Sean Brunt 5th - Brian Nielson B Grade With attacks from the gun it was clear that this race was going to be fast! Lots of one and two riders groups were going of the front of the race continuously trying to get away, but the main pack would just leave them to dangle before chasing them down for the final. A bunch finish resulted with Tim Wall taking out the sprint. 1st - Tim Wall 2nd - Tom Brown 3rd - Stephen Cuff 4th - Brad Collins 5th - Lee Kyriakakis C Grade The group flew out of the blocks with a couple of riders putting the pressure on for the first two laps. Finally they ran out of steam but the group had already been split in two. The main group kept the pace on, riding together until the bunch finish 1st - Simon Ballard 2nd - Diego Morales 3rd - Scott Spackman 4th - Andrew Vicary 5th - Mark Potter D Grade Considering the strength of the wind, and the limited numbers, this race started with a great tempo. With two laps to go Mal Price and Kevin Bell got away, leaving the bunch behind to fight for 3rd. 1st - Mal Price 2nd - Kevin Bell 3rd - Peter Green 4th - James Ghata 5th - Tim Spackman E Grade Struggling in the windy conditions, this was always going to be a bunch finish, with only the strongest surviving until the final. 1st - Chris Lim 2nd - Gordon Allan 3rd - Naomi Whitfield 4th - Michael deWall 5th - Adam Callaghan As always thanks to all our volunteers for assisting to run the race, without them we have no race! Next week is the Hector Salas Memorial Trophy, so its bound to be a good one!
