Mondays Melodic Memories: Color Of Her Eyes - Gear Daddies My first band, Ground Silver, made one four-song recording at a studio in Brainerd that was above the music shop. It was done in one day, and we ended up getting cassettes made. Cassettes, I say! But man, we could not have been more proud. For whatever reason, at least three of us band members along with Steve (our manager) were at a football game out of town somewhere. After the game we were talking about our brand new recording, and thought it would be cool if we took it over to dance this other town was having at their school after the game to see if the DJ would play one of the songs. Steve worked his magic and the DJ played our version of this Gear Daddies song. When that song, OUR song, started playing over those giant speakers, youd have thought we had just won a million dollars! Im sure that entire school full of kids we didnt know couldnt have cared less about our song, but it was still a pretty cool moment in my musical life! ow.ly/xxzze
