Mondays coaching sessions are always a bit of an odd one for me, they are only with me for an hour and you cant teach a lot in that time. Today, last one before Christmas, and they managed 3 fish and lost a lump in that short period. I arrived nice and early and set up whilst looking for signs of fish. With 3 rods out it was a case of hunting them out by giving each one half hour in a spot then moving it a bit. High attract baits were the order of the day to try and get them feeding. We moved the middle rod about 20 yards just by casting further out along a island margin, that made all the difference with a take coming within 3 minutes of recasting. Firing a little bait out to keep the fish on the munch and bites came quickly as they competed for the small amount of food we were putting out. One lad hooked a really good fish and had it on for a few minutes when the hook pulled. I checked the rig and all was good so I guess it was just one of those things. I hate barbless hooks lol Shame Im not allowed to use any pics from this school but hey ho
