Monitoring the potential for strong to severe storms on Tuesday evening across IL, IN and OH. These are images from the GFS model the first is the projected CAPE values which are in the 2,000j/kg which is VERY sufficient for severe weather. The second image is the projected wind shear. Im now seeing shear values near 30kts which would support a small tornado threat. The third image if the lifted index and those values continue to rise as well. I do want to mention the NAM is much more aggressive with this system. Finally the temps which are projected to be in the upper 70s low 80s its something we will have to continue to watch with each model run.
