Monksland United Official Club Statement 19/10/2014 The committee of Monksland United would like to set the record straight of what exactly the situation was this weekend regarding the fixture between St Peters and Monksland United. Due to injuries to numerous players we were unable to fulfil the fixture. The CCFL gave an alternative solution to this matter and that was for the game to be played within the coming days. Monksland United went in search of an alternative venue in readiness if the game was to take place. Two venues were secured. The secretary of Monksland United got in contact with the secretary of St Peters on Thursday evening informing him of the situation and the CCFLs suggestion. St Peters did not agree for the match to be played on the Wednesday and that they wanted it to be played on the scheduled Sunday. This left Monksland in a situation where they had only 10 fit signed players available to play. Monksland United Committee
