Montgomery, As you may know, last year President Obama asked our founder Russ Feingold to serve his country as a temporary special envoy to the war-torn Great Lakes region of Africa, including the Democratic Republic of the Congo. His work there is urgent: the region is one of the most violent in the world -- five million people have died since 1998, almost half of whom were children. Russ has an ally in this work that you might not expect: actor and activist Ben Affleck, who has quite a bit of experience on the matter and whose non-profit is heavily involved in the region. They both testified to the Senate Foreign Relations Committee last week, and ABCs This Week interviewed them both about their work.
