The programme design is implemented in two phases - the ToT and students training - The ToT held from October 21 - 23, 2014 for teachers in public schools including Agidindbi senior secondary school, Igbobi junior high school, Lagos State Technical colleges. The YDTP programme enhances the life, leadership and facilitation skills competencies of the teachers to ensure that they reach out to more young people in Nigeria and equip them with the skills and tools to bring about positive change. Through these teachers, LEAP and its partner will reach 390 students in various schools in Lagos. Furthermore, the students will be guided and supported to implement change projects in their communities after completing classroom exercise within the course plan. Reflecting on the ToT, the new trainers says: It is typical of me to procrastinate. However from yesterday, I have started setting my goals with time frames, I wrote things down that I want to act on immediately. Mrs. Bolatito Adeyemo (Agidingbi Senior Grammar School) I am personally going to develop a functional personal mission statement and I will teach the students in my school to do likewise. I also learnt that there are no good or bad leaders, if it is leadership, it must be good - Mr. Ajayi Sola John (instrumentation and automation instructor, Government Technical College, Ikorodu) I am better equipped to guide students under my care to become confident, and this will in turn help their self esteem. I will not only cascade to my students, I will share the lessons learnt with my children as well - Mrs. Olugu U.A. (Guidance Counselor, Igbobi Junior High School) UPCOMING EVENT SOCIAL INNOVATORS PROGRAMME & AWARDS 2014 COUNTDOWN!!! The 42 days represents twice the maximum incubation period for Ebola (21 days). This 42-day period starts from the last day that any person in the country had contact with a confirmed or probable Ebola case. On October 20, Nigeria reached that 42-day mark and is now considered free of Ebola transmission. Read more here. Culled from who.int GET EXCEPTIONAL GIFTS FOR YOUR LOVED ONES THIS SEASON!
