So last night I was thinking... I couldnt shut off my brain. So this is what I came up with... Gravity is not a force but an effect. A lot of work is spent on explaining gravity when our true misunderstanding is of spacetime. Gravity isn’t a force but an effect of matter concentrating spacetime. To put it simply mass concentrates/compresses spacetime and so we have a sliding effect. We slide to where that concentration of spacetime is. An example is two bowling balls on a large trampoline. If they are far enough one doesn’t affect the other. If they are close enough the distortion that they create on the tarp will have them slide to each other. Now the trampoline example is a bit off since the bowling balls stretch the tarp but it is the best way I can explain the effect. All matter effects spacetime. The more concentration of the mass the more we have a concentration of spacetime. Another example is the time on earth and the difference of time in space. The further you are away from earth the less concentration of spacetime and thus that is why astronauts feel time differently. The closer we are to the earth’s core the more spacetime is concentrated and the faster the time due to its concentration. Another decent example is dice in space. If you have two dice in space they will eventually float towards one another because of that small distortion that they are creating in spacetime. If they are far away enough from each other then they simply float there and don’t slide to each other. If it were possible to imagine a three dimensional grid but concentrated the squares in the middle and you were to put a little ball in one box on the outside. The ball will roll towards the center. Now try to picture a beam of light. We need to remember that light passes through spacetime and so it will also roll like the ball. Not straight through our distorted grid but following the lines of the grid. And so as you can see gravity isn’t a force like a magnetic force but simply an effect of the concentration of spacetime. The distortion of spacetime is so great that we basically slide towards that concentration. We need to get away from the thinking of force and thinking of the effects on spacetime.
