Mora County New Mexico -(My new County OF HEROS)--declared it illegal for companies to extract hydrocarbons anywhere in the county, making Mora the first in the U.S. to ban oil and gas drilling outright, on public and private land.-- Does a community’s right to self-governance trump the rights of corporations? The county ordinance’s basic aim is to protect the water supply in a parched region of a drought-stricken state, but it also contains a bill of rights for the environment, which argues that natural ecosystems “possess inalienable and fundamental rights to exist.” If this is the only way we can stop Oil And Fracking from enslaving our nation with its slippery cash fed to Republicans that used to care about America , and its Tea Party meetings run by Corporate lackeys..Then I say Lets do it! Maybe we are doing this wrong? Maybe there is a way for each county to rise up and OUTLAW OIL AND FRACKING FOREVER ! Even if we have no Oil drilling or Fracking present wherever you live why not declare it banned, outlawed, and Illegal in this place ! In Austin! In Travis county! One County at a time!
