More beautiful lives lost due to ignorance, stupidity and or indifference. Three Rottweilers Die in Hot Car in Oregon Written on 06/06/2014 by Brandy Arnold in Canine Rights, Front Page News It doesn’t have to be 100-degrees outside for a car to be too hot for a dog to survive. The high temperature was only 81-degrees in Chiloquin, Oregon on Monday when three Rottweilers died of heat exhaustion in a hot car. Their owner, a 65-year old woman whose name has not been released, parked her truck outside of a restaurant around 9:15am on Monday and went inside to make phone calls. Four hours later, Klamath County animal control received a call reporting three dogs dead, despite one passerby’s attempt to free and save them. The dogs’ owner is facing three counts of first-degree animal abuse charges in the deaths of two males and one female Rottweiler, aged 1 to 5 years. If charged and convicted, the woman could spend up to 90 days in jail and pay up to $18,750 in fines, animal control officer Gale McMahon explained to The Mail Tribune. She could also lose her right to own dogs for up to five years.
