More depressing news about Round Up. Apparently, many non-GMO crops are routinely sprayed with a pre-harvest application of Roundup used inappropriately as a desiccant to dry crops and make harvesting easier: wheat, oats, rye, barley, flax, sorghum (milo), triticale, millet, quinoa, sesame, dried beans and peas (fava, chickpeas, lentils, etc.), peanuts, canola, soybeans, potatoes, sweet potatoes, sugarcane, sunflowers, rice and probably more. With these crops, buying organic is safest. (thanks to Pat Zagame for sharing this post)
