More from CM Punks interview on Colt Cabanas podcast At the Royal Rumble CM Punk was working through injuries and suffered a concussion early on in the rumble(he was no.1 if you recall) and continued as one of the last superstars in the match. The next night on Raw he was cleared to wrestle after being tested. WWE usually has their superstars sit out a while after concussions. So Punk thought WWE wasnt concerned about his health and called it bullshit. He then spoke to Vince and HHH backstage and told him he was going to leave cause he wasnt happy or healthy. He criticized HHH for killing his 2011 angle by getting himself involved in it. He also criticized them for not putting Daniel Bryan in the WM 30 main event from the get go. Vince was in tears when he hugged Punk goodbye and told him he was family. Punk stated he had some kind of boil build it up in his lower back which the doctors in WWE were blowing it off and refused to look at it. A week or two after he quit AJ Lee recommended him to her doctor and when her doctor looked at CM Punks mysterious ball on his lower back the doctor informed him it was a staph infection and that he would have died from it.
