More from the WA workshop : Elizabeth Richards is a secondary teacher who teaches equine management to year 8-12 students. She has incorporated stable sustainability to her program and attended the workshop to further her interest in familiarising the students with herbs for horses. They have a herb hedge row they have designed and planted for their school horses to self medicate. They are also using as many sustainable practices as possible in their horse husbandry such as composting, using organic sprays and eventually herbs to cut down on processed feeds used wherever possible. Elizabeth brought her 23 year old Quarter Horse gelding to the workshop for assessment, and I provided her with a diet plan to improve his hoof, mane and tail growth and to stimulate his immune system. “Leroy” looks really good for his age but Elizabeth felt he needed some help, so I look forward to a positive report on his response to his VF Natural Diet.
