More good news: The change in the power equation in Delhi University has broken other deadlocks too. Dr. Rajesh Mohan had retired on 30 April 2013. Few days before his retirement date, the college, under Sandeep Kumar Sharma, OSD, had set up an inquiry against Dr. Rajesh Mohan. On the pretext of this inquiry, all his retirement benefits were witheld. Despite clear directions from NHRC in April 2014, the authorities including VC sahib did not move on the issue.The facts that (i) no meeting of the inquiry committee were held till date and (ii) the college had not even completed work on pension fixation etc, show that this was a case of victimization. Story goes that tum ko dekh lenge sentiments of University Officials were responsible for this entire episode. In a meeting held on 30 June 2014, the Governing Body, ARSD decided to release all the retirement benefits of Dr. Rajesh Mohan as per the recommendations of NHRC. The fixation of pension will be sent to the University.After fixation the pension and gratuity will be released. Pf and leave encashment will be released immediately. Hats off to Dr. Rajesh Mohan for keeping the fight on and for these NHRC judgements which will help DUTA to deal with any such situation in future!
