KEMP SYMPOSIUM FOR CHURCH MUSIC SATURDAY OCTOBER 12, 2013 9:00AM TO 4:15PM AT WESTMINSTER CHOIR COLLEGE PRINCETON, NJ As Music and Arts programs are being diminished in many areas, churches have the challenge and opportunity to take Music Education very seriously in their Children’s Choirs and Early Childhood Music Groups. This symposium is offering a day devoted to Music Education for pre-school children through the elementary grades. Our headliner clinician is Dr. John Feierabend, one of the leading authorities on Music and Movement Development in Early Childhood. *** But beside these accolades, he is a most innovative and entertaining presenter! *** His morning classes are titled Part 1: First Steps in Music Part 2: Becoming Tuneful, Beatful, and Artful The afternoon will be lead by Tom Shelton, Chair of the Sacred Music Department at Westminster Choir Colleg. He will conduct a repertoire reading session of anthems and songs for children’s choirs, 2nd through 5th grades. A local children’s choir will participate.
