More money is already spent on private security in the U.S. than - TopicsExpress

More money is already spent on private security in the U.S. than on government police. This is an interesting comment someone made about the Philippines in this video: https://youtube/watch?v=vqlVL26jrCA Zac Corley4 months ago Good story. I have some input to add from my experience living in the Philippines. Here the police force is inefficient at protecting the people from crime. As a result, private security firms are a thriving industry here. It is rare to visit any store without seeing a security guard hired by the vendor, banks usually have several guards armed with shotguns, and a large number of residences are protected by security companies as well. If you tried to snatch a purse in a metro Manila area you would find yourself being chased down by a handful of security guards, not government police. It feels safer and freer than the Police State of America (I am American). You know the security guards are there to protect the peace, and prevent crime. They do not have the mindset of being above the law themselves, they are responsible for their actions, and they are not trying to harass civilians. It might make a worthy case study argument for the privatization of the police force.
