More prayers needed for Mark. Recent scans show his cancer has returned and spread to his lungs. Tomorrow (Monday 11/10) he will be scanned again to see if cancer has spread any further. Please keep him and his mother, Chantel, in your thoughts and prayers. In August 2012, Mark was taken to his doctor complaining of leg pain. After 2 weeks of tests and no answers he was sent to Monroe Carroll Childrens Hospital. Numerous scans and biopsies later Mark was diagnosed with a type of bone cancer called Ewing Sarcoma. It was found in his L3 vertabre in his spine. Mark started chemo immoderately. In 2 short weeks Mark could no longer walk. After 4 months and 6 rounds of chemo Mark underwent an 18 hour surgery to remove mass and rebuild his spine. Mark then started radiation and continued with another 6 rounds of chemo. One year after diagnosis Mark was declared NED! Mark continued to get MRI every 3 months. Resent scans - doctor found cancer had spread to each lung. Mark has just started treatment again and has a long road ahead of him. Tomorrow he gets scanned again to see if cancer has spread any farther.
