The Art Guild of Middletown has been able to get a bigger bus for their trip on Saturday, April 12, 2014 “New York City Day of Art!” You will visit the Hispanic Society of America Museum. With more than 800 paintings and 6,000 watercolors and drawings, the Hispanic Society of America Museum offers a comprehensive survey of Spanish painting and drawing. The collection of almost 1,000 works of art and sculpture contains outstanding pieces from the first millennium B.C. until the 20th century and represent Spain, Portugal and Latin American art. View examples of the works by EL Greco, Velasquez and Goya as well as Joaquin Sorolla’s “Vision of Spain”. In addition you will marvel at the two sculptures of el Cid and Don Quixote.
