More tedious, self-satisfied backslapping - what percentage of that million is taken up by public sector jobs reassigned to private sector providers, or zero-hours contracts, or minwage or lower part-time jobs? Blabbing a big headline statistic is almost useless when it comes to trying to understand what kind of jobs are being lost and what kinds are being made available? Another way of looking at this is to consider that the Coalition has directly or indirectly caused the loss of over 630 thousand public sector jobs. So actually there has been a net gain of approx. 370 thousand jobs under the Coalition, since 2010. Which is pretty miserable - and thats before even knowing what kind of jobs these are.
