More than 4000 film titles are kept in the Tasmanian Archive and Heritage Office’s vault, including more than 3000 from government agencies and more than 1000 from private depositors. Whats saving them from deteriorating? TAHO started digitising them years ago, information research service manager Caroline Homer said. ‘‘With the introduction of something like Youtube, it gives us another means for making those films more broadly available, it’s really opening them up,’’ she said.
