More than anything, the last few days at #burninghearts2014 - TopicsExpress

More than anything, the last few days at #burninghearts2014 imparted within me a great fear of the Lord. My heart trembles and I can barely stand in His glory. Most of us have a very diluted picture of who He is and make light of Him but He is not one to be made light of. We make Him out to be so small, and we do not clearly understand the holy awesome majesty of who He is. We have become overly familiar with Him, and instead of worshipping Him rightly, we make Him into the image of what we want Him to be. Do we even know who we are dealing with when we say His Name? I am deeply humbled. I see Him, and I see that I am but mere dust. Which makes the revelation of His love for me even more impactful. We cannot separate His love from His judgements. We cannot separate His kindness from His righteous anger. We cannot separate His grace from His wrath. We cannot separate His tenderness from His transcendent holiness. We cannot pick and choose the parts of Him we like and ignore the rest. We cannot pick and choose the Scriptures we are comfortable with and turn a blind eye to the rest. Blessed is the one who is not offended at Him. Blessed is the one who takes refuge in Him. I have barely begun to scratch the surface of who He is and even as I write this, I do so with great trembling. The awe of who He is consumes me. The more I know Him, the more I fear Him in holy reverence. Yet He is so kind, He gave me the revelation of His love before He ever gave me the revelation of His holiness so I would not be offended. I love Him, and I fear Him. No longer can I separate the two. Give unto the LORD, O you mighty ones, Give unto the LORD glory and strength. Give unto the LORD the glory due to His name; Worship the LORD in the beauty of holiness. Psalms 29:1-2 Let us begin to see Him as He is, not just as we want Him to be. Let us respond to Him rightly.
