More than once Ive written about Christmas in my books. Im obsessed with Christmas. And because we are coming around to it once more, I want to post on a very unusual Christmas novel that I wrote about eight years ago. Christ the Lord, Out of Egypt. The novel is available in trade paperback and in hardcover still on Amazon. This novel, a labor of intense love, concerns the Boy Jesus at the age of 7, who is longing to understand the mysteries surrounding His birth. He finds the answers by the end of the book and I do believe it is a highly original re-telling of the Christmas story. (Understand my approach is based on the idea (supported by the gospels) that Jesus in coming to be with us put aside his omniscience as God in order to learn as we learn, to be surprised as we are surprised, to experience life as we experience it.
