***Morgan update*** To all who have been following our journey, against Glioblastoma, a rare and deadly form of brain cancer, we have news about Mo. When she was diagnosed on April 09, 2013, we were told she would only live 12-18 months. Although we are Believers in science and technology, we also believe in God, His Son Jesus, and our faith in our Lord is immovable. As you know, Mo has to have an MRI every two months for the remainder of her life against all odds her cancer has actually shown stability and even some improvement since her giagnosis. As she approaches her 10th month post surgery, we are saddened to have to report some bad news, two months ago her MRI indicated a stable tumor bed with some reduction in tumor size. In two short months her latest MRI indicates that the cancer is reoccurring. Her oncologist believes there are two new tumors in the frontal lobes, one on the right side and one on the left. The tumor on the right side is about an inch long. That should give you an idea of how fast this curse can grow! By mid day tomorrow her oncology team will have met in order to try and determine the best treatment plan. They will also be consulting with her team at Duke University. We are all but certain that by the end of the month we will take Mo back to Duke University in an effort to get her into a clinical trial in which the polio virus is used in an effort to kill the Glioblastoma. In This particular trial the live Polio virus is injected directly into the brain. The virus somehow mutates with the cancer cells, then they administer the cure for the polio. As the virus dies it also kills the camber cells. It is a phase I trial, so it has a long way to go, but it is showing good results. Needless to say I am heartbroken and devastated by the news today. Morgan is upset, but she is a soldier and carries herself as such! PLEASE pray for Morgans healing, but also for her to remain strong in spirit. Special thanks to the teachers at Greenbrier Middle School who gathered in the hall and prayed, as a group, at the exact time Mo was having her MRI. I wish so much that I could offer our FB friends and family something other than our gratitude. I cannot put into words the stresses that come with this type of illness. Financially it has been devastating. For this reason all I have to offer is our sincere love and appreciation. Please. If at all possible, keep those prayers coming!
